Idaho’s Reactor Zoo by Susan Stacy
Tuesday, February 14, 2012
Why on earth was the Arco Desert home to 52 nuclear reactors during the 1950s-1960s? Susan Stacy will tell stories about some of the more spectacular reactors and waht they were doing at the Nuclear Reactor Testing Station, now known as Idaho National Laboratory (INL). Stacy, who wrote a history of the INL called "Proving the Principle," promises that attendees will require absolutely no background in nuclear physics whatsoever.
Susan Stacy, a well known and published Idaho historian, holds masters degrees in History and in Urban and Regional Planning.
